Simply Saturday

Posted by on Aug 9, 2014 in simply saturday | 4 comments

I’m going to try something new here this week.

I’m calling it

“Simply Saturday”

It will just be a random collection of what is going on around our house

…along with the things I am dreaming about or wanting to make.

Those things that I find each week that encourage me and inspire me.

So I hope that each Saturday I will leave you encouraged and inspired as well!

So welcome to “Simply Saturday!”

california

My girls started to school this week. It was an exciting summer.

Camps, Mexico, New York and eating pizza at picnic tables on the beaches of California.

But now we’re back to reality.

And I’m getting excited about the fall.

Acorn Wreath

Do you see those totally adorable acorn wreaths!?

Hanging on the ironstone platters?

Ann over at On Sutton Place shows you how to make them.

Neutral Kitchen Paint Color

See!? I have those same platters hanging in my kitchen so I’ve got to have those wreaths for this fall!

city farmhouse

My master bedroom has touches of gold {complete with an entire gold leafed bed} and this artwork created by Jen over at City Farmhouse would be perfect.

You can find out how to make it HERE.

wannabe cowgirl

I read this amazing post by Olivia over at The Wannabe Cowgirl.

It’s something that I need to be reminded of on occasion. :)

olive and rust

And I’m needing to be inspired to paint some furniture because I have a garage full that needs to be painted.

Meg over at Oliver and Rust is inspiring!

I now feel the need to paint something white and add gold pulls.

And this is the book that is guiding my thinking right now.

And here is a little about this book and the amazing author and her HGTV show that I tried to stay up for last week and totally fell asleep 15 minutes before it came on and woke up 45 minutes after it was over. UGH!

You can find out more about it HERE.

coastal living

And the only thing that would make the book better is if I could curl up in that comfy chair and read it!

You can see 99 other Cozy Cottage Ideas HERE.

Enjoy your Saturday!

  3. I went to look at one of those rooms in Coastal Living, awesome. The one you showed with 2 sets of french doors. Loved that one. Will go back to look at all of them again soon.
Where in Ca did you all go? Wow, how lucky, looks gorgeous. Been long time since we were in CA. And you went to Mexico also? Good for you.
I love those platters you have on wall, three of them? Boy are you lucky to find 3 of same.
Had to print out the saying and the wall with platters and acorn wreaths. I have plenty of acorns but they’re so small would take forever to make one wreath with them. Will get bunch of phony acorns to use. I’m just not a glutton for punishment, will take easy route. look forward to next Saturday Happy weekend

  4. Thank you for featuring my post! I was so tickled. It’s almost more special than having a project featured, because that post was truly from my heart! So happy I found your blog as well! Your bright, cheery projects are great inspiration. I especially love all of the things you do with flowers!
