Simple Natural Fall Decorations

I have a tendency to collect things.

I’ve had this tendency for years.

My dad has told me before that I should just open up my house and put a price tag on everything to clear it out a bit.  I didn’t get the collecting gene from him. 🙂

So the other day when he was helping hang new shelves in my pantry,

I told him, “Dad, I have a new motto in decorating:  Less is more.

To which he responded, “Since when?!”

To which I responded, “Starting now.”

And, I really do.

My tastes are changing and I really love a simple look.Decorating with pumpkins

And, even though this is not my own home,

I did get the great privilege of decorating this home when it was built a couple of years ago.

And, I often get the chance to go back and spruce it up for the holidays.

{The kitchen is totally amazing by the way!}

And, this is a family that loves simple.

So, I added some acorns to their container on the piano.

And, some parchment leaves to the mirror.

(I found the leaves at World Market and attached them with glue dots.)

Lanterns got fake candles, gourds, parchment leaves and burlap bows.

The coffee table got wooden bowls…

Decorating with pumpkins

The table in the family room got 3 pumpkins lined up in a row.

Decorating with Leaves

The kitchen got more parchment leaves falling from the silver platters above the stove.

See Dad?!

Less is more.

It really is my new decorating motto. 🙂
