Setting a Fall Table

Posted by on Oct 22, 2013 in dining room, fall | 30 comments

I’m not hosting a fall dinner party…

…I’m just pretending.

My evenings are full of basketball practice, quilting lessons, homework and games.

I run a full on taxi / tutoring service every afternoon.

(And, I LOVE every minute of it!)

But the other morning, I had a few extra minutes.

And I couldn’t resist playing around with these amazing pastel pumpkins.

And pretending that I was hosting a dinner party…

And I’d want YOU to be there! 🙂

So here is how I’m setting a fall table!

Fall Table Idea

Fall Table Idea

We’d sit right here in my dining room and eat a feast.

I’m not sure of the exact menu…

…but it would involve homemade rolls and fudge pie.

And I would hope that you would need to salt or pepper something so that you could use these little guys.

Fall Table

I know the napkins look so cute with their little grapevine wreaths and wheat.

But I’d really want you to use the cloth napkins.

We save those for special occasions. 🙂

Fall Table Ideas

You could just tuck the wheat beside the plate.

{Or tuck them into the pumpkin and hydrangea arrangement.}

And we’d laugh…

…and share stories about our lives…

…and drink gallons of sweet tea.

Because if you can’t actually host a dinner party,

at least you should pretend!

Life to the full!

  3. You have a very nice way of writing a post. I always enjoy them. I’d so love to meet you and use your pretty napkins. Your napkins are so pretty. I have several fabric napkins I bought years ago, don’t use them for napkins but they come in handy for little bowl fillers or little table covers/doilies. I’d love to see the print on yours when they’re not folded. Thanks for little tip about napkin rings, the little wreaths are so cute and easy. I might have to glue on a couple of those little pine cones and acorns.
I was thinking I’d stencil some acorns and some pinecones with tree branches onto the napkins, give them a little more personality. Might even use them for their original purpose. Happy week

Being 72 does not help either. Used to have more energy to clear it all off. Thanks for sharing the Fall table. I can at least look at it and dream. Susan
