There I go again with my crazy creative title. . . basically, just what this post is. I have not had time for those creative writing lessons yet.
Yesterday, I painted a nightstand. And, today I finished the beds.
I can imagine this set in a little boy’s room. I have been dreaming of this room as I paint. . .
It has almost made me want another baby. Combine that with the fact that today I attended one of my last school Halloween parties. My girl’s school stops the Halloween parties in the 3rd grade! {Back in my day, we partied for every holiday until the 7th!} I almost cried on the way to school as I had this thought. I distracted myself so that I wouldn’t show up at the school with red, tear stained eyes!
I am thrilled that all 3 want to go trick-or treating tonight! They are growing up, but they are still kids!
Back to the beds. . .
I started with one coat of Emperor’s Silk. I LOVE this shade of red! I added the accents of Old Ochre.
I actually measured these striped out and taped them off with Frog Tape. You get super crisp lines with this tape!
With a little sand paper, dark wax and light wax. . .
The girls are gathering up their bags to go trick-or-treating.
I love this stage of life!
Life to the full,
Melissa

I thought the nightstand was awesome, the bed is AMAZING!! Good job!
Melissa! These are great! Makes me wish I had boys so I could use them in their room. I’ve got 3 girls but I’m sure some boys in our area are going to be happy to have these. Are they going to Simply Southern? I went the other day but want to go back for the grand opening. Love your stuff!!
Great job! You worked quickly!
I love the Emperor’s silk color. That set would be great for boy’s room. The stripes are great. Look forward to seeing them finished. How do you decide what colors to paint your pieces? Do you always use the chalk paint?
I’d love to make some home made chalk paint to try on a piece. I have an old chest I’d like to redo. It needs lots of work tho, the veneer is coming off also and needs a new top. Wish we had a place I could work on it inside. Have a great rest of week and weekend. Hope your girls have a fun safe time trick or treating.
These would look great against a navy wall. The stripes are very creative.
FIrst your table now this bed, oh my goodness you are killing me here! They look perfect together. Love love.
Ok lady these beds are fabulous!! Can you come and do my boys next!?;) Thanx for partying at my place. http://www.frommyfrontporchtoyours.com/2012/10/treasure-hunt-thursday-80-highlights.html
Love these very cool. I posted my bedroom reveal today. Come by and visit.
The beds look wonderful. My boys would have loved these when they were little. Enjoy your little ones. My children are all are adults and living in other states. I sure miss having them around. I’m featuring your beds on my Once Upon a Firefly FB page. Check it out.

I LOVE what you did with this bed! It is beautiful and makes me wish we needed another bed in our home so I could paint it like this. Great inspiration.
