My yard sale-ing turned up this great piece of furniture last weekend.
I grabbed a few moments here and there and got it painted this week.
I just loaded it in the car to take to Simply Southern.
Actually, both cars.
My car holds the top half and my husband’s holds the bottom half.
{How would I ever get anything transported without my Surburban?}
I had to make 2 trips to get it from the yard sale as well.
Thankfully, it was pretty close to my house.
Here she is.
Yes, I called her a she.
For those of you who paint furniture, you know that on some level they begin to feel like an old friend.
You spend so much time together.
You are trying your best to make her look her best.
So, yes, she is a she.
Here is her original state.
Not bad, just not great.
With a little Coco and Country Grey, now she is a real beauty!
I painted the inside groove on the doors in Coco.
I used a combination of dark and clear wax.
I distressed her heavily.
I painted the inside in Coco.
I think white dishes would be beautiful in here!
This red watering can was also a treasure from last weekend.
I plan on adding a burlap bow and some holly.
I will take her to Simply Southern as well.
I am getting ready for a brunch at my house on Saturday.
You can see how I set the table here.
I mentioned that the bittersweet berries should burst to reveal a beautiful orange.
Somewhere over the last 2 days, they did just that!
Could these be any more beautiful for the fall?!
As for the brunch,
I have planned the menu. . .
shopped. . .
set multiple tables. . .
cleaned. . .
and, tomorrow I cook and finish the cleaning.
I love to host a party!
Life to the full,
Melissa
Here are the places that I party!

I saw this in Simply Southern last weekend and LOVED IT! It was the only piece I commented on. The color is very pretty. It was so smooth too. Did you sand it?
So funny to find out it was you. Great job!
