No Sew Tablecloth Curtains

I LOVE a good “A-HA” moment.

Like when Chevy Chase realized why his Christmas lights wouldn’t come on in Christmas Vacation.

Or, when Andy Griffith figured out how to save Barney’s job by adding weight to him with heavy chains.

Or, when I discovered that you could turn tablecloths into curtains without sewing at all

Tablecloths come in 84″ lengths…

…which happens to be the same length as most standard curtain panels.

So, all you have to do is add handy, dandy clip rings.

decorating with yarn

I simply spaced the clips evenly…

…pinched the fabric together and added a clip.

Which left me plenty of time to style up this super cute ladder bookcase.

And, tablecloths are typically a lot cheaper and come in a ton of great patterns!

May today be a day of “A-HA” moments for you. :)

  4. You smarty pants, great idea. Did you get those table cloths for curtains in photo from Walmart or ? Love to know. Love print on photo curtains, oh yes. I’ll be haunting the table cloths at Walmart and Target and ? I have a pair of curtains on mud room window I’ve had for while that were table cloths on sale as Walmart. Another great thing they tend to be wider also to fit many windows better than curtains any day. I like a nice full curtain. Hope some of stores have great sales soon so I can put some new “curtains” up. I have curtains on l/r windows made to keep heat/cold out. The selection was a bit limited but found some that went with l/r better. As you said also, no sewing. Don’t you love those curtains clips? They’re fabulous when you maybe find some fabric to make curtains but not enough for a rod pocket, have faced that dilemma several times to use the clips. They come in neat looks also, even at Family $ closer to us. Have you used table cloths for curtains in any other rooms? Love to see.
    Happy week ahead.

  5. Hi Melissa! Can I ask WHERE you found those great tablecloths? (It’s a wonderful idea, by the way! 84″, who knew?) Kind of funny, but… I have a shower curtain in the same pattern, different color scheme. I love your yellow and gray, and though I wouldn’t duplicate my shower curtain in my livingroom curtains (I don’t think — or would I?) I am interested in where you found such great tablecloths! Thanks! =) ~Sally @DrinkingFromMySaucer

  19. Wow! I just purchased a round tablecloth in this very same pattern! I like your idea of the curtain clips for hanging. I bought this from the local Goodwill, but it is originally from Target Stores. I plan on using the curtain to block some of the afternoon sun from my patio. I love the pattern and it goes well with my grey/cream striped chair cushions.
