New Rugs!

Posted by on May 16, 2013 in family room, kitchen | 18 comments

I think shopping for a rug is the equivalent to

shopping for blue jeans. . .

You need the item,

you just can’t seem to find one that will do?

I have been rug shopping for a year.

Not straight.

On and off.

Why couldn’t I find a rug (or jeans)?

1.  I am cheap.

2.  I measured and remeasured trying to find the perfect fit.

3.  I wanted something basic, yet with personality.

4. Did I mention that I am cheap?

Today the stars aligned.

I walked into Tuesday Morning looking for napkins.

I walked out with 2 rugs.

Both basic,

yet with personality,

a perfect fit,

and, yes. . .

they were cheap!

I didn’t even know that I was looking for a rug for my kitchen?

Isn’t it the same way with jeans?

You look and look.

You find nothing.

You give up.

Then, the stars align.

And, you walk out of the store with 2 new pairs.

If only Tuesday Morning sold blue jeans. . .

Life to the full!

  1. You were indeed aligned with the stars! You know I have never seen a Tuesday Morning store, “gasp”! Welcome to New Hampshire…
Enjoy your two new rugs, which are gorgeous by the way!
    Hugs,
    Beth P

  2. I thought you were writing about me for a minute there! I have the same problem. You solved yours perfectly! Love them!!!!

  3. You are one lucky girl! They are both beautiful and I am so loving your dining room and living room, they really show your personality and creativeness. Some people (like my family) think I’m nuts because I buy rugs online, and even clothes. They feel you have to see and touch everything. I have to see each and every rug out there, even if I have to look at 1000 of them.

I haven’t been to a Tuesday Morning in forever…have to go see what’s new!

    XO,
    Jane

  4. That’s how stores get you! You walk in for something and walk out with much more. Your rugs are also my style…Love them.

  10. Wonderful rugs! Love the colors. I’d love a new rug for my family room, but it has to be the right one for me to shell out the money. Yours are perfect!!

  11. I totally agree…the perfect rug is so hard to find! Congratulations on finding two!!

  12. I looked at rugs too at Tuesday Mornings, glad you found two perfect ones for your house.

  13. I had to laugh at this post, because I loved the analogy between rugs and jeans — too true! And, I’m cheap too. Both for rugs and jeans. Why spend a fortune? And, you proved my point…at some point, the stars will align and you’ll find something you like and in your price point…just takes a little patience that all. Your rugs look great! Congratulations on your score!!

  14. Oh I love your new rugs! They are perfect. Sometimes you just have to wait for the right ones to come along, no matter how frustrating. I’m still looking. Can you wish some luck my way please. ;) Julie

  18. Hello, I think your site could be having web browser compatibility problems.
Whenever I take a look at your website in Safari, it looks
fine but when opening in Internet Explorer, it has some overlapping issues.
I simply wanted to provide you with a quick heads up! Apart
    from that, great website!
