Luckett’s Green Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint

Do you ever get a bee in your bonnet?

Well I got one in mine…yesterday.

And even though I needed to buy groceries…and do the laundry…and mow the grass...

…that bee was there.

And that bee needed to have the girl’s bathroom redecorated.

I’ve been thinking about changing things up in there.

Three girls share one super tiny bathroom.

Storage is an issue.

And I don’t like the color.

Or the shelving.

Or the light fixture.

Hall Tree

So I “shopped” my house and discovered that this piece of furniture that was currently in my foyer would be PERFECT…

…if it were painted Miss Mustard Seed Luckett’s Green.

{Which I happened to have in my garage.}

And the perfect Spring weather allowed me to paint.

Locker Basket for Storage

And a quick trip to the antique mall turned up a couple of these locker baskets that are  perfect for storing towels.

Shower Cap

And I couldn’t resist this old fashioned shower cap…

…and those new hooks…

…and this mason jar.

See what I mean?

A bee in my bonnet!

Since the bathroom is not ready, I had to do this little photo shoot in the backyard.

And Daisy couldn’t help to snap a picture of me and my trusty companion. :)

I hope to have the bathroom ready to show in just a couple of days!

Now I just have to paint the walls…and the ceiling…and hang the new mirror…and the new light fixture…and make the new shower curtain…and hang the new medicine cabinet…

Ok, so maybe it’ll take more than a couple of days!

Life to the full!

Melissa

  1. Enjoy the moment. Can’t wait to see!

  2. You are so naughty Melissa, teasing us this way. I can hardly wait to see their bathroom. Love the hall tree, great look. Sounds like you were in shopping mood and fixing up mood. Sometimes those things just seem to roll along perfectly. Glad they did for you, sounds like you got some awesome finds. I have a big mason jar like that. Need to get it out and let it be seen.
Tomorrow I’ll be restyling the l/r niche shelves. Took decorative bottles off top shelf in our bathroom, wanted more color in l/r for while.
Those curtains from T.J.Maxx I told you about, they’re still in the bag. The brocade design on them is white with light gray background, not as I told you last week. Of course now that I’m introducing gray into color scheme my whole other ideas are shot so have to regroup. True Value (close by) has paint on sale with $7 off coupon think I’m going to paint l/r either light gray or a very light aqua. I have some apple green accessories to go in there also. Can hardly wait to get curtains up but not going to let myself until I get room painted, FINALLY. We’ll be in this house 8 yrs in July. Do ya think it’s time?
Looking forward to seeing the final result of the girls bathroom. Knowing you I know it’ll be incredible. Happy Easter
