My oldest daughter, Daisy stays creatively inspired.
To the point that her room is in a constant state of redecoration.
For the record, I really liked it a few weeks ago
when it looked like THIS.
So did Pottery Barn Teen…
…and, she won the Student Stylist contest 🙂
And, with the win came a sweet gift card…
…and, then we visited the cutest farmhouse we had ever seen…
…and, then she was totally inspired…
So, everything came off of the walls
and the redecorating began.
With all of this inspiration,
she wanted some “inspiration boards.”
And, we did already have some old cork boards that could easily be converted.
So, I decided to make them for her.
Lets just hope that the inspiration she pins to these boards doesn’t inspire another room redo!
Because, I REALLY, REALLY like this one 🙂
Supplies:
old bulletin board
quilt batting
fabric – I used an upholstery weight material
scissors
hammer
staple gun and staples
sawtooth hangers
Cut batting to fit and staple the edges down.
Wrap with fabric and staple on the back.
Add sawtooth hangers to each top corner.
Using good old-fashioned thumb tacks,
she is now “pinning” away.
And, with the addition of a chalkboard wall,
she is doodling away.
Pinning and doodling…
Doodling and pinning…
…and, staying creatively inspired 🙂
Life to the full!

How great you let Daisy redo her room. Love all the changes. You are a very good Mother gal, you let your children explore, learn about what they are happy with, what they want with loving guidance. I’m so happy I found your blog last year. I’m learning from you and many other bloggers.
Just think Melissa of the wonderful education you are giving your girls with what you do. They have been exposed to so much that will help them all be prepared for being an adult, ability to learn how to live, how to handle so much more than other children. You’ve opened up the doors for them to have the curiosity that will lead them to so much more in their lives. How exciting for you and their Dad to watch as they grow up.
Don’t know if you’ve ever seen the movie The life of Pi. It’s about an Indian boy out in ocean on a life boat with a tiger. Some parts are a bit scarey but very interesting also.
Not sure it’s the kind of movie younger children should see however. I’d seen the previews before, Dish is having a free preview for HBO so we’re getting to see movies we might not otherwise. Have great weekend.
Great idea! I have an old corkboard hanging around; maybe I’ll do this!
I’ve been looking for just this post LOL! Great! Thanks for the how-to!
PS – How cute that your daughter is so interested in design. Very cool.
