Fall Front Porch Ideas

Posted by on Sep 30, 2014 in fall, front door, front porch | 5 comments

I’m tired…you probably can’t relate. 🙂

I’m probably the only one running ninety to nothing.

The only one with kids to get to soccer and cross country.

The only one who has children who need to dress up like Disney characters tomorrow and didn’t tell me until we were getting home… at 8:00…with the costumes needed in the morning…really?

I’m probably the only one who had exactly 20 minutes to cook dinner…pack it in a cooler…and rush out the door to the game.

The only one who could use a bit of a break.

The only one who needs to take a few minutes to count her blessings.

A few minutes to be reminded how good life is…what a blessing those children are…what a blessing that there is food that can be ready so quickly and easily…a few minutes to take a few deep breaths.

And when I know that I need those few minutes…my porch is the perfect place to go!

And it is all cozy for fall.

I filled the swing with pillows.

I added mums.

And tiny pumpkins.

More mums in baskets and grapevine pumpkins.

I found that giant basket at a yard sale and filled it with plants from the grocery store.

I like the color that it adds.

And there sits my chair.

My blessing counting chair.

My “slow down” chair.

Where I can sit and enjoy this front porch…when I’m not running ninety to nothing!

I love that chair.

{And no worries for my girls and their Disney costumes…they are creative people.}

Life to the full!

  1. Very Nice Melissa! Yes indeed!, we do need to count our blessings and then recount them again. Sometimes we do feel like gerbils in their spinning wheel but we just have to stop and think. A prayer in your chair and a cup of something hot. Ahhhh! just the break that’s needed 🙂 Have a great day!!

  2. Gorgeous. This looks so inviting. I think I would spend all day in that chair.

  3. Your porch is so inviting!

  4. I want to come sit with you on your porch!! I love the pillows on your wicker rocker. I spend a lot of time on our porch swing.

  5. Where did you get the cute burlap pumpkin? W
