Easy Outdoor Projects

Every year at this time…it’s the same thing.

A precious bird builds her nest on our column on the front porch.

Right above my rocking chair.

And every year I don’t have the heart to remove her nest.

I just let her build away and hatch her babies right there beside my front door.

It makes my rocking chair a very dangerous place to sit for a few weeks…

…but I’m ok with that.

Ladder Birdfeeder

I like to welcome birds to my yard.

I feed them.

Salvaged Chair Bird Bath

And I give them plenty of places to bath.

Because if they’re going to be around…

…I at least want them clean. :)

And then when Summer rolls around the birds will have moved on.

And we’ll wait for the Spring for the process to start all over again.

Back Yard Fire Pit

So for now we will just enjoy the back yard!

Life to the full!

  1. Every time I see that photo of your special back yard oasis I’m envious. Looks so nice. Be kind of romantic to sit out there with hubs alone. Nice with kids too but nicer with hubs alone, lol. Happy Easter

  3. I love the touches and ideas. I feed birds too, but not with seed, with dehydrated mealworms. I have now a couple of bluebirds that come to me when I am putting food out. So much fun! The other birds that were here a week ago, have moved on…the crowned sparrows and a few others…it was delightful to hear the chatter in the bushes when I came out, not, it is quite quiet….except for the sweet talking of the bluebirds that have claimed the backyard as theirs.

  4. LOL. My mom has a similar problem each year. A while back she had placed a small decorative bird house in her covered porch area on a shelf right above her favorite chair. It wasn’t long until it had a feathered friend in it which chirped at her every time she would rest in her chair.
