Simple Way to Frame a Picture

Last Friday night as we were driving home, we spotted a neon pink sign on the side of the road announcing a yard sale the very next morning…

…Daisy and I were THRILLED!

We woke up early the next morning…

…convinced Lila Mae to go with us…

…brushed our teeth, threw hats on our heads and headed out the door!

If there was one yard sale there were bound to be more!

Only problem was…

…there was only ONE more.

And neither yard sale turned up anything that we couldn’t live without.

But no worries…I have a garden shed full of treasures from last season.

And today I’m going to show you a simple way that I framed up a yard sale picture for under $5.

Decorating A Drop Leaf Table for Summer

Decorating A Drop Leaf Table for Summer

I am not a musical person.

I did not come from a musical family.

I will never forget the first time my family sang Happy Birthday to my new sister-in-law.

She played the piano.

She did come from a musical family.

And, there she stood. . .

wide-eyed. . .

stunned. . .

not sure whether to laugh or to run,

as me, my mom, dad and brother did our best to croak the song out.

Luckily, she had already married my brother,

so there was no turning back!

Old Door for Photos

We were sitting at the dinner table last night,

when my oldest daughter, Daisy said with a smile,

“I learned something new about myself today.”

It is always fun to make new discoveries about yourself.

I thought maybe she was going to share a new food she likes.

Or, a new interest that she has.

Christmas Family Room

I LOVE a house all decorated for Christmas.  I turn the lights on the Christmas tree and in the garland on the stairs first thing in the morning.  There is something so peaceful about the lights glowing in the dark house.  I always have my coffee before anyone else in the house gets up.  It is such a great way to start the day!

I keep the dining room and front of the foyer pretty white, but then I use a richer color scheme for the family room.  The richer colors seem so much more cozy for this room.  This is the room where we spend the most time.  We love to build a fire on cold nights!

Here is a little of our family room.

More Front Porch Decorations

We are about to head off to the Science Fair at school.  If anyone is needing to know, Anna Belle has determined that Huggies are the most absorbent diapers!

We are actually getting to enjoy our front porch in December due to warmer than usual weather.  I think the high today was in the 60′s.  It is perfect December weather.  I will be longing for snow about January, but for the Christmas activities this warm weather sure is nice.

I finished decorating the front porch a couple of days ago.  I went with a “natural” theme, which seems to be my favorite theme these days.

I made this before Thanksgiving, and meant to take it to Simply Southern.  But, I decided that I might be able to find a home for it. . . and, I did!
