 I have a friend named Staci that I decorate for.
She calls me before each season and I go over and help her spruce things up a bit. 🙂
And so last summer I made an arrangement for her front door.
And then I made it work for the fall…and then for Christmas.
She saves all of the flowers each season and then I just arrange them back in.
But this year we needed to get rid of some of the old and add in some new.
{When your greenery fades to blue…it’s time to toss it!}
So here is how to make a fall door arrangement…step by step!
I spent 3 hours trying to get some technical issues resolved with the blog.
{So sorry if you were one of the ones who got 2 emails about my last post. I think it’s fixed now!}
My husband had to cancel our standard Tuesday lunch date.
I went to fix myself a glass of sweet tea only to realize that it had expired.
And our air conditioner upstairs stopped working.
I was on the verge of a tailspin to a bad day…
…but I remembered what I had just written in my last post.
I was going to spend the day counting my blessings.
And you know what? I did. And it worked!
And I even got to make this fall wreath.
Fall is right around the corner.
I know it is because my calendar told me so.
Too bad that someone forgot to tell the weather.
Cross Country was cancelled for my oldest today because the heat index is at 109!
That isn’t even close to fall…
But I will just keep pretending and setting out pumpkins and decorating wreaths and displaying gourds in cute little DIY cloches and totally ignoring the fact that you melt as soon as you walk outside the door.
I’m good at pretending…as long as I have an air conditioner!
So for those of you who are ready to get ready for the fall that is sure to come.
Every year my hydrangea bush outdoes itself.
I end up with seriously large, beautiful hydrangea blooms.
It actually should have died years ago.
My sweet mother-in-law gifted me with an Annabelle Hydrangea when my Anna Belle was born.
Such a sweet thought…but my reality was that I didn’t really have time to deal with a new plant.
I had a little girl that had just turned 2 and a newborn and I was tired.
So I quickly planted the little plant after letting it sit entirely too long in its plastic container…with no water.
And I forgot about it.
Until the next year…it began to show some life…and actually began to produce the tiniest of blooms.
I thought it just might make it after all.
Until my precious {then 3 year old} Daisy saw the tiny blooms and proceeded to pick everyone of them…and brought me a beautiful tiny bouquet. 🙂
I knew that was going to be all it took to polish the poor plant off.
But year after year it just kept coming back…defying all odds.
And allowing me to show you how to make a dried hydrangea wreath! 🙂
So a few weeks ago something TOTALLY AMAZING happened!
{I still can’t even believe it?!}
Better Homes and Gardens emailed me and asked if they could use my floral monogram in their
ULTIMATE SUMMER BASH CONTEST!
Are you serious?!…of course they can! 🙂
{I can’t even believe that Better Homes and Gardens knows that I exist?!}
My competition is 3 incredibly talented ladies!
So if you want to help a girl out…
{You can vote every hour of every day this week!}
So my friend Julie called the other day needing a wreath for her front door.
She was having a party the very next day and realized that her door was BARE!
I was home with a sick child, but just happened to have all of the supplies I needed to whip a wreath together…
…because friends don’t let friends host parties…
…with bare doors! 🙂
