I want to let you in on something that is on its way to being HUGE!
That’s just the kind of gal I am.
Wanting to make sure that you are in “the know.”
That something is:
Hometalk.com
Have you heard of it?!
I could tell you about it all day,
but you just need to check it out for yourself!
You can start with this clipboard that I put together about repurposed doors.
I feel like a rock star.
Not because of anything I have done.
But, because I am friends with someone who has done something pretty special.
Can I just share with you how happy it makes me that my oldest daughter is beginning to LOVE the decorating and creating process?!
Last year, she rarely wanted to go to yard sales with me.
Goodwill was out of the question.
Just this past week she asked when yard sale season was going to start?!
She is as excited as I am!
Being a lover of yard sales for quite some time, I have collected a fair amount of “treasures.”
My oldest has not always been thrilled with my “treasures.”
She would actually ask me to please not buy any more.
“What are you going to do with that?” she would ask.
“Decorate with it.” I would say.
Some of these “treasures” serve a purpose for a bit and then are left with no purpose.
Such is the case with the random old ladder in our backyard.
My oldest gave random ladder a new home this past week.
This was her idea and her decorating skills.
Nicely done.
I am trying to gather some inspiration for my master bedroom that is long overdue a makeover.
I found this amazing picture at one of our thrift stores a few weeks back.
It is old.
It is in a fantastic frame.
The picture itself is in great shape and peaceful.
When I got it home, I realized that its home was actually over my old drop leaf table.
I have been making wreaths lately.
I get on different “kicks.”
Wreath are the latest.
My kitchen countertops are full of burlap, ribbon, moss, glue gun debris.
I recently made a burlap wreath.
I have made a few wreaths for the shop.
But, I am wanting something new for my front door.
I am looking for:
A wreath that says “welcome to our home”. . .
A little different from others I have seen. . .
Includes materials that are similar to the style of my house. . .
I am asking a lot of this little wreath!
Today I think I have achieved what I have been aiming for.
I LOVE the look of burlap.
I LOVE the burlap wreaths I am seeing all over blog world.
At the same time, I like to create my own thing. Tutorials are fantastic, but I will rarely follow one exactly. I have the need to do it my own way.
Is this my inner child coming out? Could be.
Hobby Lobby has all of the burlap ribbon and wreath forms grouped together with instructions on how to make them.
While I appreciate that, I refuse to do it their way.
(This must be my strong-willed inner child.)
With that in mind, I came up with another way.
If you like a tutorial, then I hope you enjoy.
If you are more of a rebel crafter, I hope you are inspired to do it your own way.
