Christmas Decorations and DIY Music Letters

Posted by on Dec 3, 2012 in Christmas, crafts, decorating for clients, paper crafts, yard sale | 7 comments

I had the great pleasure of decorating today for my friends, David and Renee.  They love Christmas decorations, but not the process of decorating.  Luckily, that is what I love to do the most!  I bought a few new things for them, and used some of what they had.

When I arrived this morning, they had Christmas music playing for me.  I was just able to loose myself in the Christmas spirit!

I helped them build and decorate this house.  You can check out their kitchen and family room.

Here is their holiday home!

How to Make a “Vintage” Sign using Picmonkey

I recently decorated a baby nursery for precious baby Jack who is due to arrive on December the 11th.  The family is Alabama fans, so I wanted to include a little houndstooth and a few elephants.  I decided to create a gallery wall with these ideas in mind.

I had pinned a tutorial about how to make vintage signs from diddle dumpling.  I must say that it was very helpful, but I did change a couple of things.

Colorful Paper Wall Art

Colorful Paper Wall Art

I started decorating Daisy’s room this summer.  We painted, rearranged furniture, hung pictures and crafted away. After working on it for several weeks, we both got burned out.  We didn’t really know what to do next, but the room just didn’t seem “right.”

So, we took a break. . .

Daisy came to me rather sheepishly last week with a request.  “Is there any way that we could rearrange my furniture so that my bed could be back where it was before?”

I thought about it and agreed to give it a try.

I am so glad that she made the request.  The “Feng-Shui” has been restored!  It just feels “right” now.

Another great thing that it did, was to inspire us to finish her room!

And today I will show you how we made this colorful paper wall art…for cheap!

I am still blogging from New York!

The weather here in the Catskill mountains is incredible!

We are enjoying cool nights and pleasant days.

I have not sweated since I have been here and have had to wear a jacket several times!

And, that is with no air-conditioning!

Today I am going to share another project that me and Daisy completed before we left!

We are getting excited about putting her room together.

It is going to be so “vintagey cute!”

We made her name into art!
