Do you ever get a bee in your bonnet?
Well I got one in mine…yesterday.
And even though I needed to buy groceries…and do the laundry…and mow the grass...
…that bee was there.
And that bee needed to have the girl’s bathroom redecorated.
I’ve been thinking about changing things up in there.
Three girls share one super tiny bathroom.
Storage is an issue.
And I don’t like the color.
Or the shelving.
Or the light fixture.
But I knew that a bit of Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint would be the perfect place to start!
If you have never been over to Miss Mustard Seed’s blog,
you should go.
Like, now.
Ok, maybe not right now. . .
{But, right after you read this post.}
I wish she lived next door to me.
I think we’d be friends.
She is the one who first inspired me to paint a piece of furniture.
And, now I have a house FULL of furniture that I’ve painted.
And, a garage FULL of pieces that are in need of paint.
Because, once you’ve seen how she can transform a piece,
you see potential in everything.
In my case, too many things.
Like, now I have so much potential in my garage,
I can hardly walk in it 🙂
And to make things even better,
she now has here own line of milk paint,
in crazy terrific colors!
When my husband and I first got married,
we had NO furniture.
I had lived at home.
He had lived in a dorm.
(Same dorm room for 6 years – that’s another story for another day!)
We saved enough money to buy a couch and a mattress.
We figured those were the 2 most important pieces of furniture.
Our first home was about an hour from my husband’s home town.
We would drive over to my in-laws and go “shopping” in their basement.
Luckily, my mother-in-law likes to save things.
This made “shopping” the basement quite productive.
I used to pray for twin boys.
Oh, the fun they would have. . .
the mischief they would get into. . .
the great laughs they would share. . .
Some women have closets full of shoes. . .
Some women can’t resist a beautiful purse. . .
I on the other hand,
can’t seem to resist a cheap chair.
I dream of owning an old pick-up truck. . .
Cute.
Vintage.
Shiny chrome accents.
I dream of riding around town. . .
My golden retriever hanging her head out the window. . .
With a red and white gingham bandana around her neck.
