Styrofoam Head Crafts

This post is brought to you by FloraCraft® but all opinions are totally mine! Read my full disclosure here.

My girls want me to be on Craft Wars…

…and I think I could TOTALLY win…

…if it weren’t for that being on TV part.

I just know that I’d lock down as soon as they announced that the cameras were rolling.

And I’d be left standing there not being able to think up one creative idea at all and wishing that I could go back home.

I’m really more of a behind the scenes kind of gal.

I’ll just pretend like I’m a part of my own little Craft Wars with no cameras rolling. 🙂

So when I was presented with the challenge of making something creative with a FloraCraft® Foam Head…

…I just pretended that I was on Craft Wars.

And this is the styrofoam head craft that I came up with.

How to Make a Chalkboard

How to Make a Chalkboard

Do you ever get in a hurry…and do ridiculous things while trying to hurry?

And in the quest to get things done quickly…you actually spend more time doing what you are trying to get done?

Like instead of making 2 trips to get your groceries to your house from the car, you try to carry it all in one and you end up dropping half of what you were trying to carry?

Or when you are trying to make a chalkboard real quick and you end up grabbing the High Heat black paint {instead of the chalkboard paint} and you paint on all 3 coats and then you try to write on it and you can’t figure out why it’s not erasing?

Ok…so I’m guessing that I’m probably the only one who has ever done that…but it happened to me today. UGH.

But luckily the sun was shining and the paint was drying fast and the chalkboard is finished!

And if I had known how easy it was to make…I would have made one years ago!

How to Frame a Poster

How to Frame a Poster

This is so ridiculously easy…that I almost didn’t share it.

I mean, I’m almost embarrassed to share it.

But it just turned out so exactly like what I was hoping.

And sometimes I need ridiculously easy.

Because in just 2 weeks, I am hosting a Fall Home Tour with 20 of the most AMAZING bloggers in the world!

And needless to say my house looks like the Hobby Lobby fall aisle exploded in my foyer and dining room and kitchen…

…yeah, it’s that bad.

And I figured if you are anything like me {minus the Hobby Lobby explosion}

you could use some ridiculously easy in your life about now!

So here is how to frame a poster:

Frugal Fall Art

Frugal Fall Art

I’m sure this has never happened to you.

You get all excited that it’s time to decorate for the fall…

…and you start getting the boxes of beautiful fall decorations from years past out of the attic.

Only to realize that the giant wicker acorn that you thought was just perfect when you bought it…now looks ridiculous…and you wonder what you were ever thinking to have bought the tin can mummies!?

And then you pull out a wheat wreath that you still love and your faith is restored.

But that is followed by a berry wreath that most of the berries have fallen off of and you don’t even like the color of the berries any more.

So after you sort through your collection you realize that you have enough to decorate your downstairs powder room…that measure 6×9…

…and maybe something to hang on the front door.

That’s when the fun begins and your frugal, creative self kicks in! 🙂

Here is one way to make some frugal fall art:

How to Make a Banner

How to Make a Banner

Forty-six 7th graders just left my house.

We filled them with pizza and cookies and washed it all down with cokes….

…and then all 46 of them crammed into our family room for a game of charades.

Boys vs. Girls.

And for the next hour they acted like dinosaurs and Spiderman and pretended to cook and mop

…as their team yelled answers at the top of their lungs.

So if you catch any misspelled words or these directions don’t make much sense…

…blame it on the charades. Or the yelling. Or the claustrophobia.

But this banner is so easy to make that I actually think I could’ve made it right in the midst of that chaos I just lived through.

And I guess we all know who won…
