I broke one of my cardinal rules of grocery shopping last night.
My kiddos are having movie day at school today.
This means that they are allowed to bring a drink and special snack.
So, in a moment of weakness. . .
. . . I bought a can of Pringles.
(Such a delicacy is usually saved only for our annual beach trip.)
When I arrived home with them,
I quickly made up 2 baggies of the dried potato goodness.
The problem then was,
the can had been opened.
Once the can is open,
it is all over. . .
I wish I could invite you to a garden party this week.
I would make a fudge pie.
Along with some sweet tea.
I don’t know exactly how I would set the table.
I know I would use my blue dishes
and, my grandmother’s green glasses.
I have a few ideas on the centerpiece. . .
We were sitting at the dinner table last night,
when my oldest daughter, Daisy said with a smile,
“I learned something new about myself today.”
It is always fun to make new discoveries about yourself.
I thought maybe she was going to share a new food she likes.
Or, a new interest that she has.
I am a visual learner.
I don’t want to hear about how to do something.
I don’t want to read about how to do something.
I want someone to show me.
So, that is what I am going to do for you today.
For those who claim to have no creativity. . .
(which I believe EVERYONE has creativity!)
You can follow these simple pictures and have a beautiful arrangement for your front door.
I never knew that I wanted an old door. . .
until, I found blog world.
I have been on the hunt for months now.
So, you can imagine my excitement when I happened upon a yard sale last weekend
that was selling doors from a 100+ year old house!
My 13 year old daughter bought one too -
with her own money.
She follows a lot of you gals in blog world as well!
Once I got it home, I wasn’t sure exactly what I was going to do with it?
I LOVE the look of burlap.
Great texture.
Beautiful color.
Rustic look.
It doesn’t get any better than burlap.
But, as for sewing with it. . .
NO Thank You!
All of that great texture starts flying through the air. . .
and in my nose!
Yet, I really wanted a burlap runner for my dining room table.
So, I had to think of another way.
