Today as I hurried all over town getting my to-do list taken care of…
…the thought occurred to me that we leave for the beach in just a few days…
…and I don’t have a swimsuit.
I was tempted to put it off.
{Which is why I currently don’t have a swimsuit.}
It’s one of those things that’s so easy to put off.
In fact, I prefer putting it off…
But then I had the revelation that it is September, and the selection would not be good, I could NOT be left with just string bikinis to choose from.
So I directed my car to the mall and was determined to make this process as painless as possible.
I gave myself a pep talk as I entered the door. Preparing myself for hours and hours of trying on suit after suit.
I approached the area where the swimsuits were once displayed only to be met by winter coats.
Racks and racks of winter coats.
The sales lady asked, “What can I help you with.”
“I need a new swimsuit,” I replied.
She sort of gave me a pitiful look and pointed to the clearance rack in the back that held a scant amount of swimsuits.
I felt dejected.
There was no way that I was going to find a suitable suit among this ridiculous selection.
But wonder of wonders…I found the perfect suit! It is the perfect shade for a woman of my figure ~ black. And the layers of ruffles do wonders for hiding this and that. I picked it out, tried it on, and bought it in under 15 minutes.
If only everything in life were that simple…as simple as buying a swimsuit. 🙂
Here are 5 Ideas for Decorating your Front Porch for Fall that will make this task just as simple:
1. Add a simple garland around the door and a wreath to the door.
{Come back on Friday, and I will show you step by step how to make this wreath!}
2.Add mini pumpkins around plants that still look good from the summer.
3. Use a mix of pillows and an old quilt to dress up rockers and swings.
4. Add fresh magnolia branches and dried wheat in a pitcher for a simple arrangement.
5. Add some vintage appeal with old watering cans or children’s chairs.
{The chairs are perfect for displaying pumpkins.}
And that is how to painlessly decorate a front porch for fall.
As for the swimsuit shopping…it will NEVER be that easy again!
Life to the full!

Lol, lucky you! I would have been stuck with a string bikini…scary! Love your porch ideas. Now if Fall would just get here (well, if it would just feel like it instead of Summer!) Have a great week!
Your porch looks so pretty and welcoming!
Beautiful front porch! Enjoy the beach… my favorite place.
your porch is just beautiful – love your door too! I must get outside and prep and decorate too! I did add mums & my favorite scarecrow tonight — happy about that!
