5 Lampshade Makeovers

So women love shoes…for others it’s purses…

…for me it’s lamps.

I simply can’t resist a good lamp.

I find them at yard sales and thrift stores and they seem to call my name.

Often the lampshades are in bad shape. Or missing.

So here are 5 lampshade makeovers that can jazz up a lamp in no time!

Lampshade Makeovers

Ribbon Lampshade

I’ve used ribbon to wrap the shade.

You can see how to make this one HERE.

DIY Ribbon Lampshade

I’ve used ribbon tied onto a wire frame.

Spray Painted Lampshade

I’ve sprayed shades with spray paint.

How to Make a Burlap Lampshade

I’ve wrapped them in burlap.

Snowman Lamp

And I’ve even turned them into snowmen!

So I hope you have found some lampshade inspiration today!

Life to the full!

  1. Hi Melissa, hope you all had great weekend, do anything special or just kb’n around the house? That’s kinda the best one I think.
Altho I’ve seen your lamp shades before it’s always nice for a review to remind us of some great ideas. I have a lamp shade I’d like to change. Saw a lamp at Habitat I should have bought last week, was colorful and little bigger than some of our other lamps, I’m just tired of same ones I’ve had for many years. Maybe I should paint one of them to give an upscale to it.
Watching the news, talking about the xgames at Aspen, would love to go see that someday. Probably be hard to find a place to stay we could afford. Not a trip I’d want to make back to G.J. after being at games all day. Shaun White, the snowboarder, opted out of x games this year so he could rest for Olympics in Sochi. Shaun is a San Diego kid. Our son in law knew him from the beach. Even with big age difference sil met Shaun and his famliy at Pacific Beach years ago when Shaun was learning to surf.
Glad to get ideas for lamp shades, when I can get down to shed I’ll dig out couple old lamps and shades to see what I can come up with. Happy week
